We cry to you, O Lord, relying on your mercy and goodness.
Listen to our heartfelt prayers as we gather at this very acceptable time,
for now is the day of salvation, grant us your love and compassion through Christ our Lord.
The Season of Lent calls us to deepen our prayer lives. Is a reminder that prayer can give us comfort when we place our hope in God.
We mark the beginning of Lent by receiving the
mark of Ashes on our foreheads. They are a sign
of sinfulness, but also of our repentance.
“Fasting of the body is
food for the Soul”
During Lent Catholics are called to days of fasting from food an abstinence from meat as we refocus our discipleship.
All the faithful who have reached 14 years of age are required to abstain totally from meat on Ash Wednesday and Fridays of Lent.
All the faithful between the ages of 18 and 59 inclusive are bound to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
Sacrament of Healing:
All the faithful are bound to confess once a year sins which have not already been absolved.
